How to edit your SRT file for Subtitles

Windows:

  1. Right click on the SRT file and select "Open with" Notepad
  2. Make the changes you want within Notepad
  3. Save the SRT file
  4. Upload to desired video as subtitle option


Mac:

  1. Right click on the SRT file and select "Open with" TextEdit
  2. Make the changes you want within Notepad
  3. Save the SRT file
  4. Upload to desired video as subtitle option


YouTube:

  1. Head over to YouTube Studio and sign in
  2. Select subtitles on the left hand side
  3. Select the video you want to edit subtitles for - of course, you'll need to upload the video beforehand
  4. To the right of the video, click on "Duplicate and Edit" to edit the automatically generated subtitles. Or click on "Add Language" to add new subtitles using your SRT file
  5. Click on "Upload file" in the subtitle editing screen
  6. Select your SRT file
  7. You can then go ahead and start editing your subtitles
